Hello to all our readers, past and currently published poets,
I, Bruce Whealton, am writing on behalf of our staff.
First off, yes, we are accepting new submissions of poetry for publication. Please visit the website to read about our submission guidelines and to see any new features that might be interesting. We would like to ask as a favor, for suggestions as to other features that we could offer to an online writer's community. Be creative and suggest anything at all that would make you want to visit the website from time to time... joke of the day... trivia of the day... forums. It need not actually be on this site alone but it could be on a related site. I have ideas of things to offer but I wanted to hear from all of you.
Word Salad Poetry Magazine has been delayed with its Fall issue due to technical issues. We have had some issues with the web hosting situation. These issues were related to performance and to cost. The websites is back up and running now and it should load faster than in the past. The next delayed issue should be out very soon now, hopefully within a week. We have had to turn to some method of raising money to cover the cost of the web hosting. This is in the form of advertisements from Google. They are supposed to be relevant to our website and should just blend into the rest of the site. Who knows, you might see something interesting and it never costs anything to look. As always Word salad is available at: http://WordSaladPoetryMagazine.com
It is my dream and desire to be successful as a Web Designer and Web Developer. Keeping up with the latest trends and technologies and learning how to put these to use on websites is very exciting to me. It does cost money for any website to get noticed among all the others. Finding reliable web hosting that supports various applications is not easy or cheap. Hence the need to raise money to cover hosting. Who knows, maybe we'll get to the point where we can offer our contributors free copies of the magazine.
Word Salad Poetry Magazine is making available various issues from Volume XIV, No. IV onward, in ebook format from Amazon.com and on Barnes and Noble, in each of their ebook formats. The Nook and Kindle ebook reader software for Mac or PC are free. In addition, the Kindle device can be purchased new for $80 and can store some 5000 or more books - so it is convenient and good for the planet. There are also various Tablets such as the iPad or the Kindle Fire or various devices that run on Google's Android operating system. Any of these will support the ebook reader software (which is free). Most smart phones also support this software letting you read your ebook there.
A search on "Word Salad Poetry Magazine" on Amazon.com will bring up the editions available. We will add a list of contributors so that you can find the edition in which you are published. It is only $4.99 and you will have it instantly and it can be read across devices. You can read the Archives on the Word Salad Poetry Magazine website to find the edition where you are published. We hope you will support our magazine by ordering a copy of the ebook. Be sure to check out other ebooks that we have on Amazon.com such as "Post Mortem: New and Selected Poetry by Jean Jones" one of our editors, with Scott Urban providing an Introducation and editing. Thiis is also available on Amazon.com in ebook format.
You can always contact us for an update on when a particular issue of Word Salad will be available from Amazon.com.
