Sunrise of the Soul

The mystery of the human soul,
You can't see it,
You can't touch it,
You can't explain it,
But you can feel it,
As certain as the sun rises each day,
When your soul is sleeping you know it,
Just as when your soul awakens you know it,
You can't plan it,
You can't coerce it to happen,
It's an empty space that magically fills with amazing contentment,
A space you didn't know was empty,
Until it filled,
You just know,
As time goes by and true emotions are absent,
The longer it lasts,
The more numb spiritually and emotionally you become,
You don't know why,
All you know is,
Depth of feeling doesn't exist,
The highs not to high,
The lows not to low,
Months pass,
Years pass,
And you wonder will I ever shed a tear again,
Then on this day,
This magical day,
Out of Nowhere,
From across the room,
I met her,
My spirit is awakened,
A sunrise of my soul,
I feel alive again,
It's been so long,
I am alive,
It's been so long,
 I feel,
It's been so long,
I cry
