                                                                              IT FALLS APART

I try to protect my paper heart
but it falls apart
It tears when it gets wet
and the love runs out of it
like water from a sponge

I try to keep my anxieties from overwhelming me
so I seal them off behind a wall
but it too falls apart
it comes crashing down
like childrens blocks upon the floor
exposing what I want to hide
leaving me open to be judged by people I can't stand

I try to hold the world together
to keep it from crumbling down
from imploding under the weight of its own collective stupidity
but my anxiety and lack of heart leaves me afraid
and without pity
so I fail
and it falls apart
and maybe thats best

The simple truth is

it all falls apart in the end
